Allow me to reveal: this gorgeous art piece for my friend Beccy Alldredge. I started making her portrait after I cancelled studio portrait sessions(a little over 2 weeks ago) due to Coronavirus

I couldn’t sleep. Like many of you I felt depressed, powerless and fearful. I cancelled in-person sessions for high school seniors 😢 who are missing out on this last semester of memories. I cancelled a session for a family with a grandma going into hospice. I cancelled all mother / daughter photoshoots in the studio. 💔

My heart sank and I couldn’t lift my spirits…. but working on this oil painting I focused on what I COULD do from inside my house. I could do virtual portrait sessions using zoom. I could take commission paintings (no contact needed). I could mail Mother’s Day presents commissioned by loving family members.

Making this oil painting for Beccy lifted me out of a dark place. I shifted my focus from my pain to serving my clients , friends, and their loving families.
