Portraits of Community Leaders
Kavita Patil Doddamane thank you for celebrating your life, leadership and legacy with us at the studio.
I met Dr. Kavita while we both served on the board of the Art Centre of Plano. At the time all of our meetings were on zoom – and it was hard to get to know Kavita’s lovely, exuberant, and JOYFUL personality via digital meetings.
Fortunately for me our paths crossed again while we both formed part of Leadership Plano Class 38 (presented by the Plano Chamber of Commerce). This gathering of Collin County leaders really made us both connect and form a friendship that is deep and healing for both of us. Kavita was very open about challenges and successes. We shared our strengths and our vulnerabilities.
Kavita and I both shared stories about our diversity and the community we have made in Plano, Frisco, McKinney and beyond with other women of color. In fact, we discovered we shared even more leadership roles and mutual friends through the local North Texas group Empower: Women of Color North Texas
In addition to being a professional, a volunteer, a mom, and an overall good person, Kavita is also a talented artist. She’s a fellow painter, just like me!
I can’t share ALL of Kavita’s powerful story yet… because she is a part of our 2022 40/40 Project. We will be announcing the date of that celebration very soon and it would be an honor if you joined myself and Kavita at this inaugural Collin County event celebrating women leaders over the age of forty!
