Field Trip: Milk & Honey Boutique
Well, yes, we like to shop.
A lot.
This Fall we met up with the gorgeous Brittany York,ย owner and buyer (yes, her job is fabulous) of Milk & Honey Boutique in Dallas.
B wasted no time sharing some favorite things, trend inspiration, and a little background on what has quickly become one of Dallas’ favorite stores.
Upon arrival we were greeted with champagne flutes and expensive french candy.
No, that’s a lie.
It may look like that kind of place, especially since local celebrities like Courtney Kerr are big fans, but Milk & Honey has a stronghold on the ‘ boutique fashion at below $100’ market.
Her store smells nice, her service people are stunning (one of them is even a part-time photographer… crush!), and there’s brilliant juxtaposition of textures creating depth to her displays.
The racks and racks of trendy pieces are selected exclusively by Brittany. ย And trust us, you’ll feel a buzz sans-champagne when you see her huge collection of lovingly selected pieces.
“I majored in English and Philosophy” says B while re-arranging some purses. She could have fooled us. We would have guessed fashion merchandising or interior design.
But Milk & Honey’s best quality just might be Brittany’s interest in hospitality. ย “I like creating environments for people where they can feel inspired” she says. Future plans for her include creating a small boutique hotel, not unlike the Hotel St.Cecilia in Austin.
This hugely successful store really needs to be on your radar this holiday season.
Brittany didn’t disclose the extent of what their black friday sale would look like, but at their “baller on a budget” pricepoint, she didn’t have to. Follow them on fb and twitter for updates on deals (hint hint).
And now with their online store you don’t even have to fight for a parking spot on Henderson.
On our 2013 Christmas list are this wooden watch (featured above) and what we like to call “sweet as a toothache” earrings (below).
Shopping at Milk & Honey was sort of like Free People and Anthropologie had a baby that was raised by Target.
Think about it.
And if you haven’t yet, you really have to see Milk & Honey boutique for yourself!
Call us, we’ll come with you.
And of course, no local field trip is complete without some favorite things!
Brittany York’s favorite things:
1- Shopping: Zara
2- Dallas Designer: Nicole Kwon
3- New reading material: Blogs “I’ve recently become a big blog follower. ย My aesthetic is influenced by everything from blogs, shopping, and going to market”.
4- Trademark Accessory: Statement necklace- “I’m all about a big statement necklace right now”.
5- Can’t live without: Shoes- “More so lately. I feel this drive to complete an outfit with great shoes”.
We feel you, B. Especially on the blogs bit!
