We caught up with Geoff Garber, co-founder of Matrimoney Clothing and Roi’al Bijoux (jewelry) for some news on Fall fashions and trends hitting DFW right now. The Matrimoney line has been carried at Centre in Dallas (Mockinbird Station) and online at KarmaLoop since just after their launch in 2005.  

We already know that Matrimoney clothing has been bringing some of the New York and LA streetwear trends into Dallas.  What we didn’t know was that their products have always been detail, logo and quality driven.  They stay away from the anime/cartoon/bright color aesthetic of some of their contemporaries and that’s probably why their style translates from Dallas to their other markets in Canada and Australia.

Their workroom featured everything from sketches to past collections and fabric samples.  Admittedly, there wasn’t anything trendy about it.  I would describe it as timeless -street.  The looks were very New York.  Something Nordstroms buyers would sweep up at first glance…but that’s not Matrimoney’s market…yet.  

As for girls (and their photoshoots), “keep it simple” says Garber when describing what he looks for in women’s styles.  “Less makeup and more natural.  At the end of the day that’s what guys are attracted to”.
